Opening June 4 through October 30, 2010! "Surviving Behind the Lines: Civil War Medicine in Middle Tennessee"
Funded in part by the Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area,
this exhibit examines how medical practice evolved during the
Civil War. The exhibit will feature rare period medical artifacts and
specimens that highlight the stories of soldiers and civilians caught
in America's greatest crisis. Regular Admission. K-12
School Programs for "Surviving Behind the Lines: Civil War Medicine in
Middle Tennessee" available now through October 30, 2010 The
hour-long program can accommodate up to three classes and includes a
role-playing component. The program addresses science, math, social
studies, and health education student performance indicators for 5th
and 8th grades. Students and teachers are admitted free.

Minie' Balls and Morphine: Exhibiting Civil War Medicine Tuesday, September 14, 6:30p.m. Rob
DeHart, curator of "Surviving Behind the Lines: Civil War Medicine in
Middle Tennessee," offers an insider's look at the exhibit. Featured
will be stories and images of Tennessee medical artifacts that were not
used in the exhibit.
Civil War Medicine Homeschool Days Fridays September 10 & October 1, 10:30a.m. The
program is primarily geared for 5th and 8th grades, but all ages are
welcome. Students and teachers admitted free. Optional $2 per child
craft fee. Reservations required.
